Sedation dentistry – dental
treatment performed on a sedated patient – is very efficient for the patient
and for the doctor as well – here is why and how:
-
No pain or discomfort –
the procedure has been invented to help people suffering from a phobia of
dentists or of the sounds, sights and objects associated with dental procedures
to overcome their fear. Patients who undergo sedation will remember very little
or nothing of the procedure, therefore they don’t go through the stress and the
fear they have previously experienced while planning or undergoing dental
treatment;
-
A possible cure for the
phobia – many patients suffering from dentist phobia reported that after a few
treatment sessions performed on them while they were sedated they felt less
anxiety when they attended their Lakewood dentists appointment and many of them could
eventually get rid of their phobias completely and for good;
-
More efficiency for the
doctor – if the patient is sedated, the dentist can work faster and do more
during one treatment than he or she could on patients who feel everything done
to their teeth and require the doctor to stop the treatment frequently. This
also means that fewer appointments are necessary for completing even the most
complex interventions
